Hyderabad: One-third of people living with obesity (PwO) in India misjudge their condition as merely overweight or even normal weight, which underscores a critical public health issue. Doctors emphasise the co-relation between lack of awareness about the severity of obesity and its direct implication on heart health, according to a report.

A recent study conducted by Novo Nordisk, involving over 2,000 people living with obesity and 300 healthcare professionals (HCPs), has revealed critical insights into the challenges faced by PwO in India, highlighting the lack of awareness about obesity as a disease and its effective management strategies.
